Cleansing blemish prone skin

Salicylic Acid Cleansing Wash

Thoroughly cleansing skin (both morning and night) is essential to remove daily impurities, dirt and debris, resulting in a fresher complexion.

Owning a good cleanser, which is tailored to your specific skin concern/s, is especially crucial for those who suffer with blemish-prone skin, particularly non-inflammatory acne (e.g. blackheads and whiteheads which transform into blemishes).

Benefits of Salicylic Acid

Skincare products which include salicylic acid (the only Beta Hydroxy Acid used in facial skincare) are an ideal choice for non-inflammatory blemishes as they help unblock pores and speed-up cell turnover.

Introducing a salicylic acid-based cleanser, serum or cream into your regime, means that you won’t have to spend anywhere near as much time exfoliating per week. This is beneficial to the skin as it reduces the risk of tiny blood vessel damage, which is often a result of over-exfoliating.

Another advantage of Salicylic Acid is that while it targets problem areas effectively, it also acts as an anti-irritant, making it the perfect choice for combatting redness and soothing stressed/over-treated skin.

How does it work?

Integrating Salicylic Acid into your skincare regime has a similar impact upon the skin as using a Glycolic or Lactic Acid based product (both Alpha-Hydroxy Acids). However, a milder percentage is required, because Beta Hydroxy Acids are much stronger.

The blemish-targeting acid increases cell turnover which helps to open pores, remove dead skin-cells and boost natural collagen production, helping the skin to repair itself.

While best-results can be achieved by using a leave-on treatment (e.g. by applying a serum or cream), it’s also hugely beneficial to integrate a Salicylic Acid Cleanser into your regime to maximise results.

A cleanser for blemish prone skin

A combination of skin-clearing Salicylic Acid and Niacin (Vitamin B3) within our Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser helps to detoxify and deep clean congested skin of daily impurities and excess oils, without causing irritation.

The level of Salicylic Acid included in our foaming gel formulation is measured between 0.1% and 0.3%; meaning that newcomers can start with a small dose and gradually increase the percentage applied to their skin as it adjusts.

Similarly, people with congested and blemish prone skin can combine all four of the products within our Salicylic Acid collection to create a complete skincare regime; safe in the knowledge that a healthy, yet effective concentration of Salicylic Acid is being applied (on a daily basis).

5-star Salicylic Acid Cleanser reviews:

“This face wash is brilliant! I am 41 with acne (t-zone and chin) and I’ve tried my fair share of cleansers, most of which have been a lot more expensive than this! I’ve been using for 2 weeks and have seen a massive improvement. For the price, it is well worth a go.” – Debbie

“£7.99 seemed too good to be true and way less expensive than other brands I was used to. I’m less than a week into using this facewash, and there’s barely a hint of congestion around my forehead. My skin is smoother, and it hasn’t dried out which I thought it might do.” – Jemma Holt
