How to exfoliate oily skin

Salicylic Acid is a hugely beneficial ingredient for those who struggle with oily, congested and blemish prone skin; in fact, we’ve already discussed the benefits of introducing it to your skincare regime here.

Today, we wanted to discuss how to effectively exfoliate oily skin, highlighting the benefits of introducing a Salicylic Acid based facial scrub to your skincare regime, in order to banish excess oils.

Super Facialist Salicylic Acid Facial ScrubExfoliation – the key to smoother skin

Oily skin is notorious for becoming congested faster than any other skin type, so a regular exfoliating skincare regime is key.

The reoccurrence of various facial skin concerns, like blackheads, blemishes and blocked pores, can often be attributed to the fact that old skin cells have been left unattended (without proper surface exfoliation), causing these cells to become clogged.

Of course, for blemish prone skin, there is a fine line between under and over-exfoliating. The good news is, our entire Anti-Blemish range features Salicylic Acid, which will exfoliate dead skin cells, regardless of the formulation.

We advise that if you’re worried about disrupting the skin’s balance too much, and struggle with blemishes, you undergo scrub exfoliation once or twice a week. For those struggling with excess oils and blackheads, but minimal blemishes, we advise exfoliating 2-3 times per week.

Other skin-loving ingredients

Not only is our Salicylic Acid Face Scrub an excellent choice for blemish-prone skin, it’s also an ideal choice for oily skin – whether your concern is historic scarring or newly appearing blackheads, whiteheads and blemishes (due to trapped toxins, dirt and oils).

The creamy formulation includes a selection of vegan-friendly ingredients (in addition to Salicylic Acid) which make it an ideal choice for combination-oily skin types.

Niacin – most commonly recognised by the title ‘Vitamin B3′, and biodegradable micro beads, combine with the BHA to exfoliate and tackle blemishes. Added Grapeseed Oil and Elderflower also ensure that skin maintains a good moisture level, making sure that your complexion is not only softened and resurfaced, but also more refined and luminous, through regular exfoliation.
