Wanting healthier looking skin? At Super Facialist, we know the best tips and tricks to help achieve this…

1. Double Cleansing

If you haven't heard of double cleansing yet, it's a skincare method that involves using two different cleansers to effectively remove makeup, oil, and dirt from your skin. The first cleanser, typically an oil or balm, breaks down any impurities on the surface of the skin, while the second cleanser, usually a gel, cream, or foam, removes any remaining residue.

Incorporating double cleansing into your skincare routine can make a significant difference in how your skin looks and feels. You can also mix it up by replacing the second cleanser with a scrub a few times a week to get a more exfoliating experience. Regardless of which approach you take, double cleansing ensures that your face is thoroughly cleansed and ready to absorb the benefits of your favourite skincare products.

 2. Plenty of Sleep is key

While it may sound like a common phrase, the idea of "beauty sleep" has some truth to it. Our liver naturally cleanses itself during our sleep to ensure that our body, including our skin, functions at its best. This process is most effective while we are in a state of rest.

While some experts recommend sleeping for up to 10 hours, others believe that the consistency of your sleep pattern is more important than the duration of sleep. However, the general target is to get at least eight hours of sleep and to aim to go to bed before 11 pm each night. By doing so, you can reap the benefits of a well-rested body and healthier skin

 3. Discover the right ingredients for your skin type

You can find various suggestions for different skin types, such as Salicylic Acid for oily skin, Hyaluronic Acid for dry skin, Retinol for mature skin, and Vitamin C for dull skin. Try incorporating at least one of these ingredients into your skincare routine. Make sure to wait 6-8 weeks for the product to work before assessing its effectiveness on your skin.

4. Eat your greens!

It might sound obvious but your diet plays a huge role in your skin health.

Drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day is a common recommendation for good health, but did you know that consuming Omega-3 rich foods can also benefit your skin? Omega-3 is a healthy fat that helps the body absorb key vitamins. While seafood is the most common source of Omega-3, there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available, including flaxseeds, chia seeds, tofu, avocados, and walnuts. A balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables is also important for promoting healthy skin and flushing out toxins. So, incorporating these foods into your diet can help you achieve healthier skin and overall better health.

5. Always wear SPF!

This doesn’t just mean wearing it when the sun’s out, it’s also so important to wear SPF in the winter.

Our Super Facialist moisturisers are designed with scientifically proven ingredients that are not always compatible with SPF. Therefore, we encourage our customers to use additional sun protection to ensure effective skin protection while addressing their skin concerns.

6. Wash those Make-up brushes

We’re all guilty of not washing our makeup brushes enough but it’s time to break that cycle!

You should actually be washing your makeup brushes at least once week, this limits the chance of clogged pores as it removes the dirt from the brush. Maybe start making a Sunday evening ritual?

7. A daily moisturiser is key!

Even if you have oily skin, it is important to not skip moisturising your skin as having oily skin does not necessarily mean your skin is hydrated. Moisturisers are essential in retaining natural moisture, which can be lost due to external factors. They also create a protective barrier on the skin. Many moisturisers contain ingredients that can help improve various skin concerns. Therefore, it is crucial to include moisturising in your daily skincare routine, regardless of your skin type.
